Timeline & Summary
Changes in the Enviroment
Planet Arda 10 million years
Location on Planet Arda 10 Million Years Ago: Tundra part of Beleriand
Climate and Physical Setting of a Tundra:
Average winter temp: -34° C (-30° F)
Average summer temp: 3-12° C (37-54° F)]
Summer only lasts for about 60-50 days
Yearly participation (including melting snow): 15 to 25 cm (6 to 10 inches)
Very little plant life
Environmental Changes
10 million years ago: Planet Arda is in an ice age and the global temperature is 13 celsius
Through the years, volvanic activity increases which also increased global warming
The ice sheets continued to melt until they were completely gone
Present day: since the ice sheets melted due to global warming there is no tundra and the polar bears retreated to the taiga biome.
Impact on Interactions
Polar bears are very big and vicious, so they are still on top of the food chain
Preys: Arctic foxes, wolves, fishes, etc.
Competition between the grizzly bear because they are very similar and have similar preys
